Wallace & Billie Miller have bought Cherrrington's place Cleta's will soon be our neighbors don't know where Cherrington's are going or what they are going to do just heard it today. I think Elaine has forgotten all about me has been down several times since she came up to see me what happened this time? Had a nice letter from Bob Orton thanking us for the Christmas Box while she went to Conference. Lyle is looking for Marlene Garold and the baby tonight then they are going to the herd tomorrow wish they would bring Sara but know they won't even ask her. Joe Foy & Elizabeth went to Las Vegas to a welfare meeting said they saw my good looking daughter I told them they meant one of my good looking daughters and they said that is right.

Elliott Barney is still unconscious fromhis fall thro Middleton's ceiling in his store house been better than two weeks. I am really thrilled with my kitchen it looks so nice if I jsut had the money to go on and do it all & the strength Myrtle Haycock gave me two pr. pretty short curtains for my door & window looks real nice some someone gave her and she didn't have any place to put them. Thora just came in to pay me and we had quite a good visit for a little while I staid at the library and said who knows Maby Wayne & me will be working together in a month wish they could it would make them both very happy but he is a district president and I think Wayne would like just being a partner & tract & meet people more than so much record keeping he hasn't said that exactly. I was really disappointed at Easter Ted said he was coming down & Jack said he was then he wrote said his old car wouldn't make it Christine said she didn't think Ted would come but he might it seems so darn long since I saw any of my family I didn't know they had sold their place.

Panguitch 28 April 1960

Dear Georgie and all.

Here it is April nearly gone again I have been sitting here this morning thinking how mcuh happiness and pleasure you have given me how good you were and how unselfish of the many nice things you done for us The first Mothers day I especially remember the pretty grey suit yellow blouse the shoes hose and slip I guess the first complete outfit I ever had how dolled up I felt as we went to Sunday School everyone telling how pretty it was how nice I looked I hope some day some of you girls will do the many nice things for you you have always done for me & Dad the new cook stove the cabinet the linoleum and many other things also the many scrubbed floors cleaned windows etc. We want to say Happy Birthday & many more but I guess it probably will be just another day. I think so many times of the pretty layette you made for Wayne how miserable I was & felt it would be the end when he came for him & me how much we would of missed if we hadn't ever had him this letter of his settles the thing a little I wish could get it settled it has been thirty months now since he left Salt Lake the time has really flew Dad feels like they shouldn't of ask him to stay longer but when you read the blessing Bro Moyle gave him you can see why he had to stay if the draft board OK.d it.

We had a nice two or three inches of snow this morning full of water the wind blowed so hard for a few days couldn't keep it out the dirt I mean had to even put the vacuum cleaner in the bath tub. enjoyed seeing Lola & family Ted & family at Easter also the week Betty and family spent with us Dad spent a week mostly with Sara & family said she was really glad to see him Ted brought us a pretty easter Lily had six or seven flowers on they are all gone now but the plant is pretty. Dad Parley Ipson & Caesar Myers went over to Cecil Adams funeral yesterday Sara is much better but has to be real careful she looks pretty old. Uncle John is coming up right away to see if his eye is ready to be operated on poor old guy I feel-----(partial letter from Ruth Owens)

Panguitch May 26-59

Dear Roger & all

just to say happy birthday big boy and many more to come. We are all pretty good here but Grandma I wish the poor old soul could get out of it she will never get any better she thinks she is going to die and has no desire to get better I don't know how ong anyone can go on suffering when I think of all the years she has been so dam sick so many times I can't understand how anyone can take so much and come back for more I am so blue I have a chance to go to the lake again this summer $8.00 a day and we have never needed it as much in our lives guess will just have to stay and take care of Grandma. Thanks for the dress it is surely pretty and fits real good. I wrote and told Argie I thot she or Orene should come help but I doubt they will Orene got all she wanted last year enough griping though.

I sure was disappointed when Nellie said she ask you to come to Uncle Rays and you couldn't it was real nice.

We have traded cars the guys around here siad ours was gone so bad would take $150. to fix it and then maby it wouldnt last so we traded for a 1953 Dodge cost us $325 beside our old car.

Well I just got to run to GM so will close.

Oh! yes Ruth has been in the hospital a day or so with female trouble Duggins says her overies have to come out but he wants to wait a while if he can handle them she is so young. We love & miss you Mom & Dad

Panguitch Dec 20-1959

Dear Georgie Adrian & all.

Here it is Adrians birthday and we never got a card off to say happy birthday so we will say it as we say Merry Christmas and Happy New year. hope Santa finds you with the things that will make you happy also all those other people you are working so hard to help with theirs.

I think this is the least I have ever been able to do we had a little money thot to spend got a letter from Wayne and said he would have to have more money as it cost him $100.00 a month to be Pres. so I sent him the extra twenty five now the new Pres. had a conference in Paris called the Pres. in sent him a special delivery letter told him he would not be going back to Brussells so he didn't know if it would be a promotion or demotion or what and we have not heard from him since so don't know what happened thot sure would have a letter today but didn't.

Dad & me went to Sunday School we are having meeting with the North ward tonight a special invitationso guess we will go.

Oh! while I think of it it isn't a robe but a shield Dad needs we got the robe before tie belt shoes & shield is what he lacks I felt very bad I didn't know Mrs King was in the hospital until the day before she went home I went down she looked & felt pretty good was in real good spirits I think maby she is going to be better now she said Louise came up to tell me but that no one was home that was while we were in Vegas and no one told me she was there a long time I wish I had known she got so lonesome said they took some xrays she didn't know what they found out.

If you think all I do is tend sick folks you should of followed me since I got home I have painted scrubbed the whole house but the bath & little hall whose turn it is tomorrow I still have the stair steps to paint I painted the wood work in the front room a very pretty pearl gray Ruth & Glayd ordered some paper and if luck holds out Daily Lee will put it on in the morning have about one more day of finishing up then will be clean from top to bottom.

We spent Dad's birthday at Betty's went out to Lola's staid that night came home early the next morning at Lolas we had cake ice cream and twenty eight of us there then went to Saras spent the evening back to Lolas to sleep came home with out any trouble found Grandma with Lareta & very happy to see us she is pretty good and here with us comes out to dinner that is more than she did up home. Had a card from Monte is home in Spanish Fork said he would be seeing us. All of Clare Foys family are coming for Christmas they are in their new home and very happy about it I haven't been over Clare was telling Mrs King the other night what a case he had always had on you and how much they loved you.

Sara gave Dad a pair of bath room scales Lola & family him & me three nice towels & wash rags Dad to pair of sox me a pair of nylons Glayd brought us a big hunk of pork Grandma gave him $2.00 I bought his shirt he was happy about your letter Jannette but I guess he will not ans-it as he says he has forgotten how to write letters. I had a letter from Inez she has Three grandsons and one coming she is thrilled said her & husband were happy to be together. Thanks for the money and Anniversary wishes also letter was so glad to get it.

Waynes ad. now is the mission home 3 Rue De Sota Paris 16 France. We are just going to have a little pine tree this year on a stand Glayd brought it to us is quite pretty wish we lived where the kids could come and go I think we miss an awful lot in life living away from them. I don't think we made to many sacrifices for you you were one of the best girls parents could have and I do wish you could have some one do the nice things for you you did for me no one could be better to anyone than you were or more unselfish with their family when I think how good you were to all of us I would like to do something especially nice for you. poor little Evelyn just being eaten up with cancer suffering and terrible pain Irene Hatch said she called a minute the other day and she was surely a brick said she had had the beauty operator in and done her hair had a bath said she was ready for Neal makes you so sad.

It is Mel's and Irene's golden wedding the 3rd of Jan Dave & Ola are coming he wrote to see if someone would put them up so I wrote and told them to come stay with us so we will have to get a new mattress.

We love you and wish the very best for your Christmas New Years and all the time Love Mom & Dad (Ruth and Joseph Owens)

Panguitch Feb 11-58 Dear Georgie & all.

we rec'd your letter was glad to get it sent it on to Wayne had a nice letter from him sunday his companion will be released on the 25th I bet he hates to have him leave he thinks he will be transferred back to France in a way I wish they would leave him there France has such terrible morals and the people there are so nice there was a missionary here that Wayne took his place Frank Orton saw him said he knew Wayne Hal & Bob I would like to have visited with him but didn't get to he was on his way to Arizona to see his girlfriend Wayne said he was going to school down there I am so sorry you are having such a time with your nose hope if you have to go to the hospital it is all over with I surely would like to come up and stay but I have been on the sick list the last while I hurt my ribs or something on the arm of the rocking chair quite sore then I took cold seemed to settle there a few days then went into my back the same place as last year but not as bad the cold is pretty well healed but still not very good went to the office this morning to get some letters off but am pretty lazy as you could see if you were to come into our house the mud is so deep around can hardly get the car in or out the lot so it wouldn't do any good to mop if I felt like it which I don't hope Bonnie is alright & none the rest of them had it. ( a partial letter from Ruth Owens)

Dear Georgie & family.

Have been going to write rec'd your letter and was really glad to hear you were home but very sorry you didn't get that good rest you thought to have hope everything is still OK we have really had a mad house at our house. Kay & his nervy friend Betty & family Joe Bob me trying to work up here it is real nice Lessie Talbot & me are cooking don't have to many we get a couple hours a day at our cabin we are here now but must get back and get dinner started we went down last night for awhile I tried to get some shoes but couldn't find anythink I did get a pr. of Red dettes but they are to big & have rubber soles so will have to get some others the first chance I get. Betty went home this morning I feel bad her trip was hard no vacation worked all the time she was here Lewis brought her old washer has a wringer on it so I guess I will probably never get an automatic but couldn't have one now anyway. They have caught a lot of fish here they are bigger than last year but Dad & Lewis didn't do much they fished on the Mammoth done a little better can you imagine Dad on the creek he is really thrilled with his fathers day I told him to write and Thank you for it he said they couldn't read it if I did so Thanks so much he don't look to good he has had a heck of a time getting his nose to quit bleeding I am glad Joe is here with him now all the rest have left and I am up here most the time have only had one day since I started but it----(partial letter from Ruth Owens)

Panguitch Mar 24-59

Dear Georgie and all.

We rec'd Bettys card and letter she was home so I sent it to her we had a nice visit at Henderson but Dad took a cold had a shot the Dr said he had wax in his ears so when we got home Duggins took it out gave him another shot and medicine but he is pretty lifeless don't get well very fast Duggins said his blood was up pretty high I don't think either of us are worth enough lead to blow us up I can't tell what is wrong with me but I guess we will be all right in a little more time would like to come up for easter and see Jacks baby blessed but our car is on the blink.

Betty adopted a baby boy while we were in Vegas Lewis sister Lorraine had him, married a guy who was already married when she got PG he left and of course she didn't know what to do with him while she worked she didn't want to give him away but did let Betty have him she will only keep him until Easter if she won't give them the papers she says she don't want to keep him and get attached to him then have her take him he is a cut little guy looks enough. (partial letter from Ruth Owens)

Panguitch 4 Feb. 1959

Dear Georgie and all.

It is surely a struggle to get letters written it seems like when I am in the mood I either can't find a pen with write or paper or someone wants something There is four of us and I have to fix breakfasts get up get Gren off to school get my breakfast then either Grandma or Dad start stirring I have to make a fire in Grandma's room & take her breakfast to her some time I wonder if it is worth the price I am so homesick to go see some of you guys but just can't seem to get the nerve to move mom home and go leave her I believe she is getting kinda homesick Mike was in here the other night ask her when she was coming home she said soon I guess I think Aunt Ruth wants to go visiting but Lyle is not to anxious she feels to tough to have any more to do she needs some paulps taken out of her nose and her ears are giving her a lot of trouble and then there is Bern-------------------- If there was ever any thing interesting to write it would be easier to write I went to relief society yesterday was a real good meeting seems like I enjoy the theology & testimony meetings more than any.

Did you know Corris Slack went to France on a mission Wayne felt bad we didn't send a personal greeting but Myrtle promised to let me know when she was here but didn't he thought Maby you would did you know she was up there?

We are having a wonderful winter havnt had any snow maby an inch three or four times a few real cold days the farmers & sheep men are really worring for the water this summer.

I wish you could hear Wayne's recording it is the nicest think sounds like he was in the room talking did you get the letter I sent to Ted have you got any of his letters I am missing quite a few. I surely do enjoy Myrtle Heywood she comes nearly every day for a little while to see Grandma and does her alot of good she is such a cheerful person has a very contagious laugh. partial letter from Ruth Owens

Panguitch 12 Feb. 1960

Dear Georgie and Adrian all.

We rec'd your letter today and was so glad to hear from you but hate to have you have so much colds sore throats flue and etc. Grandma fell two weeks ago in the night didn't break any bones but has really been sick since did hurt one big toe real bad Dad & me had to get her up and back to bed every day she found some sore spots then the same night she got up again I didn't hear her until she was going back as she got to the bed I think she went to sit on the bed and was not close enough she sat on the floor we had to get her back in bed and we have had to help her to the bathroom take her meals to her so I haven't even been so I could go to church then to top it all off I have had a kidney infection quite bad oh my back & side nearly murdered me but the Dr. gave me some medicine so I am better but still not to pert have to go back in Monday to see if it is cleared up boy I would really liked to stay in bed a few days but couldn't Dad is the only one hasn't been down he says he just isn't a boob but I am sure if he felt like I did it would of been another story.

I have been quite a few times to see Mrs King she is looking pretty bad I can't help but worry about her I went yesterday she said she thot she was better but she ate her dinner then throwed it all back up felt rather bad she said they took so many xrays about done her up her neck was all stiff she was shaking all over surely hoped she was not going to have palsy I think she is about to get discouraged she let me read the letter you folks wrote to her. she was thrilled about it she seems so lonesome I think I will try to get down again maby today if someone comes to stay with Grandma I daren't leave her alone she can't seem to balance herself very good and would be sure to fall again maby wouldn't get off so easy.

We haven't had to much snow at once but quite a little and lots of mud quite a bit of cold weather.

Usher Henrie told Dad he saw you at the banquet but didn't say you spilled anything on him.

I am so disgruntled & unhappy I just got my house so I felt like I could let people in and not feel dirty the stove in Grandmas room (blowed up) or ouot somethink smoked everything until I can't hardly stand it will have to go over it from top to bottom wash curtains & everything oh it makes me so discouraged Dad says he is getting the wondering spirit again wants to go see his family so do I but I guess that is all it will amount to.

Wayne sent us a pretty silver plaque to hand on the wall of the Bern Temple is surely pretty I just got it up this morning.

He sent some pictures of him and the Pres. & his counselors one of him alone of him Brother & Sister Brossard one of PRes. McKays son & his wife Brother Moyle & 2nd counselor Brother Bennett I hired Morris Marshall to make some frames to put them in and the horses ear not one of them fit I wouldnt feel so bad but I bought glass to fit them couldn't afford them in the first place now Dad is cross to think I insisted.

We get along fine here don't worry about us I get my little unemployment check every week our social security so can keep warm pay our lights and eat to keep from starving so that is all that matters have so far had money to send to Wayne he says his expenses are more now but the church pays the car expense it seems to me from his letters about all he does is go from one place to another he doesn't know yet if he will get his extension from the draft board or not.

Mary Partridge went to Calif. got her ear operated on is back and can hear pretty good she is so thrilled of course in six months will have the other one done if this is successful Rae had hers done but didn't get along so well as Mary she didn't tell the Dr. she had had so much surgery or he would of waited to done her Mary says she is not at all good nearly a nervous wreck and such a fanatic about her house & work I am thrilled about Teds baby and its name Cindy Ruth would like to see her Frankie J. was blowing down town about Ted & Christine's kids what sweet smart kids they were and what a fine boy Greg was such a husky fine little man what a beautiful baby.

I got Aunt Rate to come stay with Mom while I went and had my hair done yesterday nothing gives me so mcuh morale support I had gotten so I felt and looked like somethink the cats drug in looked so pretty when I got home havn't combed it out yet.

It is afternoon and I havn't even washed my dishes Dad does them often but I insisted we go to the office before he done them so now I will have to do them.

Today is Eddie's birthday so we will have to go up a little while this evening Ruth said she talked him out of a party. she sure don't feel good since she lost her baby looks like the dickens was in bed a couple days the first of this week I surely hope Adrian gets back to work seems like we all depend on him so much we surely appreciate the money he & you have sent to help out but he don't have to send so much Thanks more than you will ever know. Sarah Ipson has been terribly sick in the hospital for quite a while in the same room as Mrs King a heart attacked I guess Parley took her home the other day she had another one liked to scared him to death Rhea is here taking care of her.

Well guess I best close Grandma will be waiting for something to eat wonder what.

We love you all very much Guess this will be late for Anna's birthday hope it is a happy one and she has many more all our love Mom Dad & Grandma

Oct. 30th 1959

Dearest Mother,

Happy Birthday !! and hi. Dad-. and Grandma!! We are thinking of you almost everyday and wish often you would come and see us. Beverly said "I'm going to go get that Grandmas & bring them up-". The Kids are growing so fast it is a shame they hardly know thier grandparents and that we can't all be together to enjoy each other. We wish we could have you here or see you on your Birthday-I hope you'll enjoy what we send.

I don't know whether Ted told you about Bonnie or not. The Dr at school time told us Bonnie had a murmur in her heart-so we had her to a specialist in town (SL) and he sent her to LDS hosp. for a "functional murmur" which wouldn't require an operation-and I'm sure our prayers have been answered. When her little heart beats it shakes her little body-(the upper part) and the specialists were baffled-but we know who took a hand in healing her heart. The Dr in town (R. Beveridge) was sure it was a puncture-but it wasn't. So once again we owe a great debt to the Lord.

Yesterday was a day!! with Bonnie in the Hospital- a cake to bake for a school party & baking to do for a RS bake sale last minute teaching and other problems I thought I'd go crazy-but it all got done and today is a brighter day-oh & the Halloween party down to school. We (Adrian) had promised Bonnie she could go so I had to go and get her-(a neighbor took her down) The kids won 4 cakes at the cake walk at school-so wish you were here & we'd have "Happy Birthday" this morning. Oh! when Adrian got home finally (after fasting all day.) and ate he had to leave and go down to Orem to get a load of potatoes for the ward-. What a day-glad we don't have a repeat today-I may have to go & take tickets at the show though today.

We enjoyed Betty Ann & Lola-and seeing Nettie & Kathy at Conference time The kids loved Betty Ann and were so disappointed when she went home They left real early & was gone when they got up so they didn't get to say Goodbye to her . Lola left her stroller. I don't know how I'm going to get it home. It probably isn't hers either. We haven't heard from her-but I know how hard it is to get letters written. There is surely something every minute of the day to make everyone (everyday) full to the top.

How do you feel now you're thru working? I hope you've not worn yourself down to the quick and feel too tired. Dad's glad I know. I am so glad you'll get your SS this winter. You've earned it.

We've awakened to a house full of mess this morning-we were all too worn out to pitch in last night. Adrian & Bonnie are up. Adrian has to go and unload "spuds" They had 2 flats coming from Orem last nite. Bonnie has stitches in her arm where they inserted a tube into her arm (at the elbow) to run into her heart. Then in her groin they had needles-so it's sore she can put heat on it today-There was a little girl in her room (we had read about her in the local paper) (maybe you did) whose blood only circulated on the one side of her heart- when they got in there the blood was circulating thru one side into her lung & back-they had to make a hole into the other side of a wall that had built up in her heart. They have never had a case in medical history before like it.

I'm glad you got to see Ted & family. I warned Gwen not to tell you until I knew & could tell you all-but didn't think Ted would get to go so didn't tell him. I haven't visited with him yet.

Nettie's little girl is a cute little blond thing-they slept overnite here-and we had a good visit. Glynn was unconsciously worried about Grandma. I guess until its' been quite a problem with him. Always worrying about not doing all he should-being away & all--There just isn't anyway for a lot of us to live closer home I guess we've tried it all up the line-. Now we hope Adrian can get another job pretty quick. He has one pretty good prospect. We let our hospital Insurance drop. So had to pay $168.00 hospital out of our savings-we still have the Drs Insurance however. Adrian has been getting 40 dollars a week SS so we've not done too bad.

I hope Grandma you're feeling good-I haven't heard anything for awhile. We love you all and always hope & pray for the best for you-"Come up & see us" love Georgie and all

Baby Gram weight 7-5 oz date 3/10/1954 Arrived Safely. Dad and Mother very Happy. Glad to say my name will be Becky Jo-Care Mr. & Mrs. Adrian & Georgie

Dear Mother King and all-. I thought maybe you'd like to see the announcement-and maybe you'd enjoy her-.

Randy was quite disappointed & said when he heard the news "we've got almost a hundred girls now" He really had his heart set on a boy. Adrian said he knew it would be a girl-. It doesn't matter as long as they're well and OK anyway.

Mother is coming today on the Bus. It would surely be wonderful if you could come & see us-. I hope Grandpa King is feeling better again-. I'll surely be glad to get feeling that way again not that I have anything to complain of.

We've got a lot more snow I could find a little news to write--

The baby is 2 days old about this time. She was born at 1:15 pm on the 10th. I got along fine-not too long a time-Seven AM when I awoke & began to have pains-.

Marie & Adrian were in last evening-Marie has her hands full-She says the kids are good but I know they're plenty acitve & busy body. Kathy loves to wear big slippers & long (older sister) dresses-keeps her busy all day. I do wish you could have Bonnie around for a couple of days-she's such a cutie & so good I know I had hoped winter was over-This is a lovely place to have a baby. L. D. S. (Cottonwood) in Murray-and its kinda like all L.D. S. places-They are very nice here too. My Dr was gone-& was lucky to get even a substitute in time-.

There isn't much else-I hope you're staying well we'll get along fine so don't worry about us-

Love from us all Georgie

Dearest Sara, Dad & all!! May 19, 1964

I hate to write letters "worse and worse" it seems like. I can't write for heck lately. How are all of you. We're all well having enjoyed some warm weather for a change. We're cutting grass & leaves are coming out-and flowers so I guess we're getting to summer--although its cloudy & Breezy this morning-The Lilacs are out-& Fruit tree blossoms-we were afraid everything was frozen.

The lovely card on my Birthday was much appreciated=Russell has had a lot of fun picking out Grandpa-Uncle Jack-Aunt Sara- & Marie & Kim-& one that looks like Joe. He laughs & laughs-do you remember how the people looked on it? You'd all be flattered-. The Telephone call was so nice-too thanks a million-. Sara the Mothers' day card was surely beautiful-and the letter it was surely thoughtful-. Yes! in a way it seems like Mothers been gone years more than she has-and sometimes it seems like only the other Day.

Wayne is planning on being in St George for "Glayds Wedding" & I'll come too I hope. They may leave the babies here & I'll come back Sunday-while they have 2 days with Monte & Joan who are going to Texas soon to intern-the same Hospital PRes Kennedy was in. Nellie thot Hettie Ann & her husband were going thru the Temple that Day-I wish we could all go thru together-.

Wayne called Alice at Harmons & She said she'd give Jannette & Georganna a job-(for Wayne even without seeing them) they have an interview at 4 this afternoon & then we'll pick them up & go on up to the "U" Jannette got her income tax back today. SHe was late getting it in & thought maybe she wouldn't get anything back. The kids are all out of school yesterday and today-Teachers on strike-I guess you know. It's a mess-

Nellie Crosby came by yesterday=she said Gren Owens is in the Hospital in Pang. with a Heart Attack-Mrs Roe with something-Nellie is really skinny. Uncle John Crosby has been operated on for cataract on his eye-& she says he'll be at her house a few days. I hope we can get over there to see him-. They may take him down over Memorial Day-I may be able to come back with them on Sunday-. Adrian has a job with "Stokermatic Co" (furnaces) and works 4 hours after that at Sperrys (Janitor work) he's pretty tired but gets about 6 hrs sleep every nite and off Sat. Does cleaning Sunday morning.

Congratulations! Norma how did you do in the competition-It is wonderful to get as far as you did-I hope you were Champion-.

I'm sorry about your saddle & Bridle-It's a shame people can't be honest. I hope you could get some Insurance on it. It's so hard to buy things like that anyway.

Yes! always needing new shoes here too-. Always-!! I do hope Jannette & Anna can work-get their own things-Tuition-Books & clothes etc. for school. It will surely help out a lot. We'll have to worry about Transportation for them-our old car is soon going to have to be replaced it is shot & has to be babied all the time. The dgirls dont have thier license yet (to drive) guess I'd have to take them til then-.

We don't ever hear from Kay & Roma-they'll soon be out of school I guess. Due to a misunderstanding (on our part) Jannette didn't get to Provo. We were going to call up all day-It was nice of Lola to call at that time-. The kids have been to school & back-. I doubt there will be school at all this week-.

Wayne & Marlene brought the babies & came out on Mothers day-. and brought a rose Bud & fern. It has been so pretty & we've surely enjoyed it. Bev even took it to school one day to enjoy.

Our kids need play clothes for Summer. If it isn't one think its another-.

I'm sorry about Eddie-Gee! you never knew-It could have been worse I guess from what Sara said I am so thrilled for you Glayd and Ruth---and hope nothing keeps them from this important event in their lives-. This "project temple" has surely brought a lot of couples to the temple here. It is surely an inspired program from our Heavenly Father. People are so thrilled and happy to go. I am going Friday to help with Sealings at the Temple. I went awhile back to help with washings & annointings.

I have a big envelope all ready to send to you-with your stamp book and Wayne's picture in a Book in it--- If I ever get it to the P.O. to see how much postage.

Well I'd better get busy-and get this finished-

How are you Dad? Are you getting anxious to get home & see how things are? & fishing-. We hope you are feeling good-. We hope to see you- and probably will over Memorial Day. Love to you all Georgie and all

This is another submission by Beverly.  Her description speaks for itself.  I hope you enjoy it.

I wanted to share a favorite song of Georgie Owens Cuff. She wrote it on a piece of manila paper like construction paper, hand written (in green ink) with a fine point pen maybe a pen with an ink cartridge. It is "Begin The Beguine" by Cole Porter the song is from 1938-possibly could have been the year she copied it or shortly there after.

When they Begin the Beguine

It brings back the sound of music so tender

It brings back a night of tropical splendour,

It brings back a memory every green

I'm with you once more under the stars

And down by the show-an orchestra\'s playing

And even the palms seem to be swaying

When they begin-the beguine

To live it again is past all endeavor

Except when that tune-clutches my heart,

And there we are, swearing to love forever,

And promising never, never to part.

What moments divine? What rapture serene!

Till clouds come along to dispense the joys we had

And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted

I know but too well-what they mean;

So don't let them begin-the beguine,

Let the love that was once afire remain an ember;

Let it sleep like the dead desire I only remember

When they begin the beguine the beguine

Oh yes let them begin the beguine,

Make them play till the stars that were there before return above you, Till you whisper to me once more, "Darling, I love you!!" And we suddenly know, what heaven we're in, When they begin the beguine.

When they begin the beguine.

Beguine is a vigorous popular dance of the islands of St. Lucia and Martinique.

This is so romantic! It is one more little piece of the puzzle of this wonderful woman, our Mother and Grandmother. Oh I have lots of questions I would like to ask her. I guess I'll just have to wait. Thinking of her and all my family I send all my love, Beverly Cuff Fordham
